My husband and I are moving out. We’re hitting two, three… maybe four birds with one stone with this one.

We figured that by moving to a smaller space, we’d end up consuming less energy. The house we’re in now is simply too big for the both of us. Plus, it’s much closer to work. We can get rid of one car and we’d ride to work together. Now, if we could only get someone to carpool with us… then we can really say we’re energy-efficient.

(note: I read somewhere that for a car to be fuel-efficient, it needs to transport about 3 people. Please comment if I am mistaken.)

The good news is that we will be able to bring our two dogs with us to the new house (unfortunately, they were banned from the compound… but that’s another blog story).

It really broke my heart when we had to return them to my mother’s house. But we’ll be able to be with them again. So happy about that.

Since there’s just the two of us and we’ll only get to pack up every night after work, it’s such a hair-raising feat. But once we get settled in, we’re sure to be able to get our evenings back for ourselves. For the meantime, we’d have to get used to getting very, very tired by the time we hit our bed at night.

Our routine by the time we get off work:

Drop off some stuff we packed the night before to the new place.

Cook dinner (and our packed lunch for the next day).

Pack some more and load them in the car.

Sleep

Big ticket items like furniture, we move during Sundays. We had to get rid of so many furnitures that it has three destinations: 1) Our office; 2) My in-laws’ house; and 3) The new place.

All of this has to be done before August 1.

Oh well… Suggestions anyone?
